My Heart Is Not Mistaken

It hurts me sometimes, seeing you.
You are just so... exclusively you.
I still love you, and it is severe.
Why must you be so impossibly near?

I know that God has not forsaken,
and that my heart is not mistaken.
But this love lingers so agonizing...
And you, you are not realizing.

How long? A year since confession.
And I wonder... have you forgotten?
I cannot let this continue,
because it sears with and without you.

It is too much for me to handle.
This love unwavering candle.
Four years without its death.
Will it last till I draw no breath?
