for I can't remember where we left off
and I've nothing to say to you.

But I still maintain the firm belief,
with all or maybe most of me,
that neither of us were wrong.

So I remain here, shaken but living,
despite all your guilt-tripping.
I refuse to let myself give in.

And though you bitterly refused to sing
for my hopes of a happy ending,
you taught me that, at least.

I have not been left empty handed.
