My Dragonfly
Author:
Lee Vindication PM
A tribute to my sister, though she may laugh. It's a general poem of how I feel about those important to me. It's supposed to be uplifting.

My Dragonfly

Hold your head up high
My dragonfly

For you have wings
Such glorious things
You grace the air
So don't despair
You're a brilliant shade
That doesn't fade

You're brilliant
Be proud
You're perfect
Stand out of the crowd

Bring your joy to the land
Don't even stop to stand
Look at you
Your glorious hue
You my dragonfly are grand

With wings that contest with jewels
Thin veils used as tools
Your body sharp as jade
Skin soft and finely made
Wings webbed with light
Filled with power and might

Make your own music
Wing song reverberating
Lightning strikes the air

Hold your head up high
My dragonfly
