On the shores of Paradise

I saw a long beach with golden sand

Sun forever setting in a timeless sky

Pink gold and orange tinged the air

In this place of youth eternal

Where time resists

The steady onward march of years

I saw you walking this fair shore

Robed in red with golden hair

Youth eternal given you

The curtain of your years drawn back

Smiling laughter on your face

As you walk this timeless place

The care of years torn away

Hidden beauty now revealed

Age does not now worry you

The years can no more condemn

And in the rising and the setting of the mortal sun

I will remember you

Beneath an ageless sun

Walking the shores of Paradise

This poem was inspired by my idea of the Grey Havens of the Elves in Lord of the Rings. It is a tribute to my Gan-Gan who died Friday, 16th December 2005. May she have Eternal rest in Paradise. Her loving granddaughter Ringwarriorkayla.
