The Perfect Woman:
Jamie Nicole Doud
It was a hot day at Robinson Beach on May 25’th 2001, and I was enjoying myself at the end of year school picnic. I was having a friendly competition with my friend Dan Schumacher. As it was, nobody could dominate at Sonic Advance more than me. And that didn’t change either. As I was very kindly rubbing my win in his face, a sweet young Freshman girl approached us. “Hello Dan,” she said, waving. Apparently Dan knew her from his childhood. Dan smiled and said Hello. And that’s when I looked up and was instantly love struck; She was beautiful, her long shoulder length hair blowing in the wind, her gorgeous eyes sparkling radiantly from the water’s reflection, and her smile more addictive than Caffeine. “Hello,” I said smiling at her, “I’m Jason.” From that moment on I knew there was something special about her. We had a great day, we talked, went on walks, I pushed her on the swing and got kicked in the face (on accident), and we had a wonderful time together. Later, Dan went swimming and we were alone. We were silent for a few seconds when she let out a loud sigh, looked at me directly in the eyes, and said, “I really want a boyfriend.” Thus, began the best relationship with Jamie Nicole Doud, the most wonderful girl I’ve ever known.
I’ve told this story, I don’t know how many times, and it always ends with the listener asking, “So what did you like about her?” And my response is always the same: “What I liked about her then, I love about her now; she’s creative, cute, and caring.”
Of course nobody ever accepts this answer (why would they?), and want me to explain more. And so I tell you now what I tell everybody who asks.
First off, I am a very creative guy. It’s only natural that I find someone who is as creative as me right?
Wrong!
Jamie is twice as creative as me, and she’s better at drawing too. It’s amazing what she can come up with: she can create people, creatures, whole worlds, and even her own language! Her only problem is; she has a magnificant story in her head, yet due to her slight reading disability, she can’t write it the way she wants. And that’s where I come in. Being a talented writer and storyteller, I offered to help her write it and we are now writing a novel together.
Now, after hearing this, the listener decides to move on to the next subject, which is; “How is Jamie cute?”
First off, let me just say that a 5-month old kitten playing with a ball of yarn and getting entangled in it is less cute to me than Jamie. She is just so adorable with the way she laughs, the way she smiles, the way she looks at me with love, and the way she paws at object she wants while meowing like a kitten. I know it sounds weird, but I believe that Jamie is part cat. She meows, she purrs, she hisses, and she even has an evil cat like gleam in her eyes sometimes. I absolutely love it when she can’t resist the urge to bat at something hanging from a string. I think it’s so cute and makes her different from all the other people in the world and makes her stand out and I love her for it.
The final point is always the most important; “How is Jamie caring?” The answer is; Jamie shows it. She is very loving and caring towards the ones she loves. Always caring about others, and sacrificing her own happiness in order to make others happy (a habit that sometimes gets irritating). She especially shows her caring and devotion towards me; she is always there when I need her, she is mindful of what she says and does for fear of hurting my feelings, and she always knows how to make me feel better. A good example is when my Nintendo Gamecube broke. And I was distraught, my Nintendo was my child. Anyways, my freaky attachments aside, Jamie felt bad for me and within the next month she saved up and bought me a new Gamecube. It was at that point I knew I had found the perfect woman. All kidding aside, Jamie is the most caring and considerate person you’ll ever meet, that is if you get on her good side…
So there you have it, Jamie Nicole Doud is a wonderful person who brings happiness to those close to her. Her love truly knows no bounds and as an example I would like to close by telling you a story of what happened not too recently…
I was staying in Black River Falls on Easter Weekend of this year. I woke up Monday morning to the soft sweet kiss of Jamie’s. She smiled and whispered “come on let’s go outside.”
I sat up and looked at the clock, “Jamie it’s 6:30 in the morning, are you insane woman?”
“Yes I am, now let’s go.”
I crawled out from under the covers, and said, “ok I’ll be right with you, I need to put my pants on first.”
“No let’s go now.”
“Jamie,” I said, “I’m wearing shorts and a T-shirt. It’s not skin warming morning air outside. That’s just above freezing morning air outside.”
“Just go I’ll be with you soon.”
“How come you get to take your time?”
“I’m wearing a nightgown; I’m not going outside like this.”
“Neither am I.” I whined. She then gave me her “You are Whipped” reminder look. “Just go outside now.” She growled.
So I went outside and Jamie soon joined me. I bitterly stared at the sunrise, complaining about the cold. She wrapped her arms around me and kissed me. I couldn’t help but smile.
…Then, she got down on one knee… And proposed to me. There was a shocked silence as I finally realized what she said, and then I hugged her and said, “Of course I’ll marry you! Considering that I’ve already asked you a year ago.”
So, Jamie is a wonderful person, and soon she’ll be a wonderful wife. I love her with all my heart and I’ll never regret the day I met and fell in love with Jamie Nicole Doud.
Thank you for your time.
