You said that Mars was not too far.

You said the sky is always bright.
You said we’ve no more need to fight.

You said you will love me forever.
You said now on it’ll be better.

You said the planets are aligned.
You said the demons left you blind.

You kissed my hand and held me close.
You said I’m what you’ve always known.

You kissed my cheek and I turned red.
You said you miss me in your bed.

You kissed my lips and shed a tear.
And said you’ll always hold me near.
