Do you remember?

Do you remember,

when you gave me your jacket

How I ran alongside your train,

wishing we weren't to part?

Do you remember,

how I clung to you, that

day you came home?

How we swore we'd never part.

Do you remember,

that promise you made

standing under the oak tree?

You said you loved me.

You said we'd never part.

Do you remember,

what you said that day

our child was born?

You said we'd always be together.

Do you remember,

how I held you in the hospital,

the machines bleeping around you?

I asked you not to leave me,

you whispered we'd never part.

You broke your promise,

the day they carried your coffin into the church.

You said we'd never part.

It's cold in here, without you.

I think I'll join you soon.
