She looked at her boy with disdain. Her head was filled with scorn. Her body felt old; her face was neglected. She was dirty and she hated it. All day long her boy would exhaust her, whilst he sat down idle on the couch, looking at her listlessly, spitting on her feet when she wouldn’t work.

“You always leading me in circles!” she screamed. “I’m not getting anywhere and I’m fed up! I hate it! Why don’t you just kill me instead?!”

The boy looked at his electric fan with a raised eyebrow. He did not hear her plea. Nobody could. It was just so darned hot and so he turned up the power.
