Flaming deer fall
through the dark
tunnel of a spool.
Velvety antlers tangle in thread,
catching the bucks while
the does continue falling.
Such small deer,
the result of inbreeding--
but the problem is solved,
dropped into my sewing box,
gasoline-soaked and ablaze.
