Love,

My gown is down

Falling past my knees

And into puddles reflecting sky

Love,

My shoes are wet

Feet hurting from heels

And longing to run after you

Love,

My hands are numb

Frozen in a single motion

And lips can’t form the word ‘why’

Love,

My insides won’t thaw

Fearing that you won’t warm them

And my heart still beats loudly through silence

Love,

My view is imperfect

Fleeting views of hard winter

And I wish it would rain so this was romantic

Love,

My tears are blurry

Far away sights of stars still clear

And nothing has really changed because of you
