It’s hard to breathe; what little air I managed to get in stings my throat, my lungs. Wind whipping past me with a loud howl. My whole body is ablaze; it burns all over to the extent of my fingers becoming numb. It hurts, but I can’t do anything about it; I can’t even seem to open my eyes. What’s happening? I can’t seem to make sense of anything. Why’s it happening? Where am I? Wait, who am I?

I finally pry my eyes open, but I regret ever opening them. I see the world coming closer and closer at a rapid speed yet, I never reach it. Everything turns black before I reach the world of pain and loneliness.

The distinct sound of a pole cluttering to the ground could be heard on the school’s field. Tory wondered who, other than himself, would be at school at such an unholy hour; his eyes instinctively turned towards the Pole Vault, a sport he had been familiar with. His eyes widened as a boy no older than himself soared over the bar with ease. It was higher than he had ever achieved. In fact, it might even beat the school record! How is that possible? Some random kid suddenly decides to do the Pole Vault and tops the record?

Wait. Let’s back it up a bit. It’s seven in the morning! The physical education teacher doesn’t get into school until seven thirty! Who’s supervising the kid?!

Suddenly, a thud was heard and Tory snapped out of it. The kid was laying on the mat; he should be fine, or rather, Tory hoped the kid was fine. The fool wasn’t moving and he decided to inspect who the retard who decided he was good enough to not need supervision was.

Tory reached the boy; He’d never seen the male in his life. Just who exactly was he? The kid appeared to be shorter than him, but that was virtually a given seeing as he was 6’2”. Not too many guys in school actually topped that. The shorter of the two was mesmerizing. He was tall and lanky with locks of black hair that were long enough to cover his eyes. His shirt was slightly lifted as well, showing a religious cross tattoo above his left hip. Weird enough, the boy didn’t seem the type to get a tattoo or anything. He looked more like a book worm actually. Didn’t even look like he could catapult himself over that bar with those scrawny arms. How he managed was beyond Tory’s comprehension.

It dawned upon Tory that the boy was still unconscious as a bird’s squawk shook him from his trance. There weren’t any physical wounds that could be seen by the eye but the kid might or might not be in need of medical attention and so, panicking, Tory rushed to pick up the lithe boy and carry him over to the nurse’s office, hoping desperately that the nurse was actually there at such an early time.

A/N: I just started this story. If it sucks, it sucks. It’s just a prologue I guess. Thanks to a bunch of my friends for helping make the summary. (Actually, they pretty much wrote it themselves.) You know who you are. I’ll continue if I get at least ONE review. lol. Someone tell me if it should be first person or not. I might change this one to first person if that’s what you guys decide. XD

Oh. It might “accidentally” end up as slash so if it becomes slash, you can’t do a thing about it. –laughs maniacally- Anyways, please review?
