It was Thursday afternoon. One more day until the weekend. Tory was wandering the neighborhood with a couple of friends. There was a constant flow of words but Tory couldn’t really focus on them. Joel hadn’t been in school today nor had he been in the day before. Tory gave a heavy sigh. What happened to Joel…?

Whap.

Tory turned around to see the assailant.

Whap whap whap!

“What the hell?” Tory shouted.

One of his friends began to whine. It was Sophie. “Nyahhhhhh. Listen to me Tory! You don’t listen! C’mon!” Tory’s eyes scanned the girl, looking for the object he’d been hit with as the girl continued to ramble.

“Toryyyyy! Why won’t you listen?!”

Ahah! The purse! Damned thing….

Sophie raised her arm to swing the purse at him again when Tory grabbed it and walked away with it. At least that way, Tory wouldn’t be hit by the damned piece of shit!

All the girl could do was gawk as her friends walked away from her… with her purse. She snapped out of it soon enough to run after the entire group. She screeched again, trying to get the attention of the oblivious boy, “Tory!”

--

Joel woke with a start. He sat up quickly to find the force causing him to wake. The boy looked back and forth but couldn’t seem to find a thing.

He took a deep breath as he was about to plop back on the bed but then, at the edge of his covers, he saw a long black tail swishing back and forth. Joel quickly threw the covers to the side to find a black kitten, mewling at the loss of the covers.

The black kitten turned to Joel, and at that moment, Joel realized that the kitty had little cosplay bat wings on its back and blood red eyes. Freaky, but cool.

The black haired boy reached to untie the wings from the little kitty but realized that his arms were bare. His eyes drifted to his legs and then higher and higher. Joel realized he was naked and that the kitty was staring at his… private parts. His face started to heat up and in a rush, attempted to cover himself but only succeeded in tumbling out of bed with a thud.

His father entered soon after and he looked down at the sight before him. Joel turned to look at his father peering down at him, forgetting his lack of clothes.

Edward cleared his throat. “Um, Joel. Get off the floor and get some clothes on.”

Joel obliged as his father continued to speak. “You’ve been out for days. Doctors have been over but there’s nothing wrong with you. You can skip school for today, but come down for breakfast.” Nothing else was said. Edward walked out the door as swiftly as he’d come in it.

--

Edward left that room as quick as possible. Seeing his brother, barely covered in sheets, must have been the most erotic thing he’d seen in ages. Even his breath had hitched and his little friend down there was stirring.

Oh my- He had to get rid of that. ‘Think ugly naked fat chick. Think blubber.’ He sighed in relief as his erection quickly left.

Edward began to prepare breakfast for him and his brother. Toast and some eggs, easy over, would be sufficient. Not even ten minutes later, Joel came stumbling into the kitchen.

Edward set the two plates of eggs and toast onto the kitchen island and motioned for Joel to take a seat.

It was still early enough for Joel to make it to school on time, if he so wish to. It would be his choice. But, Edward was more concerned about Joel’s memory. He gave a deep sigh. “Joel, it’s your choice if you want to go to school today or not, if you’re feeling up to it.”

Joel pushed at the eggs, more playing with the eggs rather than eating it. He thought about his choices. Should he go to school or stay at home in utter silence. He figured getting picked on and even beaten up would be better than going insane from social deprivation. “Um… I’ll go.”

“Alright. After you’re done with breakfast, go get ready for school. I’ll drive you.”

Joel nodded and walked off to his room, leaving Edward to think.

--

Edward wondered how long it would take Joel to regain his memory. There were some signs of Joel regaining some of his memories but, how much? Edward knew of the headaches involved with recovering lost memories. He had gone through it himself.

Aside from that, Joel’s wings should be sprouting soon. It was just a matter of time. Even if Joel wouldn’t be able to see them himself when it first sprouts, he’ll definitely feel it. Human beings wouldn’t be able to see it either.

They’ll definitely be a translucent gray in the beginning. It’ll depend on the person to become a “good” or “bad” person. If they were to ever grow back to a pure white, the fallen would be admitted back to heaven.

Edward smiled at the thought of when Joel will finally grow his wings. Joel’s wings will never be white again. That was definite.

He snapped out of his thoughts as soon as Joel came back into sight.

“Ready to go?”

Joel gave a small nod and attempted a little smile.

Edward smirked. This timid personality was definitely adorable, but it wouldn’t last once Joel recovers all his memories.

A/N: Yeah. Another short chapter. Bare with me. I'm a n00b. Also, there's probably a lot of holes in my stories, but at the moment, I stopped caring. Imagine something up yourself if something doesn't make sense. lmao. Or message me and I'll make up some crap. I don't think this series will last too long. ;;
