i laughed a light, silvery laugh

as i spun off into the night

the whispered wisps of frost-flaked snow

caped my shimmering delight

-

as i pranced away from the crowd

poison pen dipped in ink

i danced the quicksilver rockabye tune

before i started to think

-

laughing the note of songs of before

bubbling far away

crossed-eyed in the starless sky

galloping to yesterday

-

the merryweather smile died on my lips

with each step prancing me back

the frost-flaked snow started to freeze

in a sugar-coated gullible guilt attack

-

gone was the carefree laugh of the harpies

my blood-soaked talons red before my eyes

the purely idling mass of the proletariat

wrapped in cheered ribbon; roasted in lies

-

as i whip-withered in agony, darting fast

the crudely carved stone of shakesperian lore

became slick metal silver, firey alight

and remorse is now in store

-

the wishing that i had remained unnoticed

stuck in the brooding crowds

is useless, my friend, as i have already departed

floating upwards to bluey-black clouds

-

i wonder, sage sweetheart, have i kissed you goodbye?

when i return, do i face the beheading block?

have i ruined the hope of ever succeeding?

will anyone ever forget this shock?
