In the End of Time

In the end of time

There was only just one man

Who knew the way

The world had gone astray

He knew the time had come

To go out into the world

And teach us all his song

Teach us how to be young

In the end of time

There was only just one man

Who knew the way back home

Oh he felt so alone

He would teach the world his song

Teach all, teach me and you

He would make us see the truth

That the world was almost through

Where the trees had been cut down

The breeze there was no more

And the ocean seemed all drowned

He did not feel so sure any more

What had happened to the race

Living in such vast a space

Now the acorns were all gone

And the animals were done

living there

The worst was yet to come

The world was ruled by war

Such ceaseless bloody war

And this was ruled by men

Why they fought all night and day

From Winter through to May

They did not care what chaos might bring

Did not even notice Spring

In the end of time

When galaxies divide

And innocents, they die

And money --

Oh money rules the world

Money makes the world go round

Gravity's long disappeared

Coins, notes the world they steer

In the end of time

The man he brought some light

He sang his fears

Sang of long forgotten tears

He sang of peace

of long forgotten happiness

Held the world in his hand

And gave it hope

Men opened up their up their eyes

And amazed looked at the stars

Brought end to vicious appetite

And patched up all their scars

In the end of time

When nothing did seem fine

The man he sang his song

And the end came to an end
