The mortar is mixed and your foundations are set.

The blueprints are memorized, lest you forget.

-

Embedding the first brick and mashing it down,

you're angry at us for letting you drown.

-

No curious bystanders will gather around,

for you've hidden the site and it's hard to be found.

-

But your plans are so strikingly the same,

that I spotted your grave and tried to end the game

-

because the cost of losing is too much.

-

The bleeding hearts and artists are seen, not at all.

To witness the construction of this freshly made wall.

-

And so I ask of you before it is too late,

to dissipate your anger, anguish, and hate.

-

I ask of you to open your ears,

and the face the faint music of some lost years.

-

For I have begun to listen to mine,

and my foundations are crumbling all of the time.

-

Please, I ask of you...

-

Just because no-one else is willing to act,

don't sign to the worm, this vile pact.

-

Don't deny me the five minutes it could take,

to cause your wall to crumble and break.

-

Don't keep me held back and restrained,

forced to watch in silence, forever pained.

-

For the worm, your honour, loathe my testimony.

-

Please Joe,

-

because all in all,

I refuse to be,

another brick in your wall.

-

Sincerely,

A Concerned Mason Past.
