Hello, my name is Siran Asarshi. I come from the East, traveling in the court of our treasured king. I have just celebrated my sixteenth year, and thus becoming a woman in my culture. As the eldest girl in my large family, I was granted the honor of traveling with our King. My father, Kieran Asarashi is a strategist in warfare for the king, and my mother Heira Asarashi attends to his wife. It is how they met, many years ago, in service to the king. Now it is many, many years later, they pay him back with my service as well. My three older brothers, Hiro (26), Nero(23), and Oron (19), are in his majesty’s special guard. The other two, Shiloh, and Diam, of whom are younger than I, are taught by a governess. My four younger sisters help out around the palace. Two of them, Cetrine (14), and Lizan (12), clean the many rooms of the palace. The youngest two Eilten (10) and Sarai (6) spend their days in the kitchen fixing meals for the royals. I am rewarded for my beauty, humility, and practice of virtue by attending the royal court. It is a great honor and duty.

This trip to Bethlehem was my first out of our great nation. My parents are very weary of travel within our country. When his majesty announced that his courts would be leaving with great fortune, everyone was ecstatic. Though, their glee soon fell when he also announced that his destination was undetermined. His majesty told us that he was compelled to travel. As wise as his advisors were, I still cannot believe they encouraged him. It was the word of commoners that a Savior had been born. How could our gracious king bow before another who meant to take his throne! The possible answers plagued us. Some of my companions who had been assigned duties in the temple came to me with news of old scrolls. Hessian told me that hundreds of years ago, a prophesy was made about a Hebrew king. Am I to believe that this baby born here tonight is the fulfillment?

My parents were skeptical about the mission without a destination, but it was their duty to let me go. We left, and traveled or many days and many nights. At last we came to this small town. We hailed a small child, and bore to him great litters of sliver, gold, and myrrh. We gave him riches, and yet, it seemed that all the fortune we could hold was not enough to give to this great babe.
