It is in the blood of man to be noble

Taking upon the youngest of such hearts

To stay a course of great sorrow

For only the promise of another’s freedom

We protect our own, beloved one

As if to declared our defiance of death

And as the battle cry resounds

So does courage build in our chests

But misery follows on the path of destruction

A shattered heart bleeds too much grief

With but a taste of divine redemption

Giving way to an untimely terror

Only the soul can forgive its own deceit

Floundering in the memories long past

Knowing that if I was to lose all hope

My blood would sing of tragic victory

For you can’t defeat a legacy

That burns deeply inside yourself

Nor forget a mercy never done

This pain it aches, it is known as betrayal

So when you stand beside me

A sword poised solemnly at my back

I know you are just scared I am too

We were too young to go to war

And our misery now is a lost thing
