Dedicated to Dr. Kim Gaither, who has gone to be with her Lord.
"Well done, good and faithful servant,"
What praise I've longed to hear.
"Your time has come, now you're done,
Well done, good and faithful servant."
"You went where asked
You never turned back,
Come now into my rest,
For you have served me well."
What glorious six words,
How sweat they are to hear.
I served my Lord all my years,
I served Him with my best.
How good it is to see my Lord,
My faithful Savior there,
Who utters such great words
As "Well done, good and faithful servant."
Author's note: The phrase "Well done, good and faithful servant." is taken from the parable of the talents found in Matthew 25:14-29, especially verses 21 and 23.
