Oklahoma

Nothing breeds the faery breast

To release it from its cage,

Nothing eats it, nothing dreams of it,

And nothing seethes soothing numbers dear.

Oklahoma new was plastered there,

In between here and there,

Unknowing the little dotted electrons

That would end the town in strife.

A new number three has come

Inside a letter cool, never let at once

That is, till the summer’s new dairy cools.

Unbeknownst to me, of course

Was the magick dolphin measured –

A tyranny in blue dotted ink,

Scattered like pebbles along the busy road

In Oklahoma, once again.
