The shimmering lights of Chicago
Each row a beautiful glow
Blocks alight with the prettiest gold
And every skyscraper glimmering in the night
A beautiful yellow town
Alit with shining creations
Christmas has come early
When Chicago's up at night
Dotted cars drive past me
Only headlights are seen
They eyes of the bedazzled beetles
Glowing eerily in the night
Rows and rows of sparkling city
Sequined diamonds in a row
A town engulfed in tungsten and fluorescent-
This city thrives in the night
We slowly cross the lake
The city's lights linger
And in my heart, there's nothing much better
Than being over Chicago at night
Chicago's now a memory
As we reach another town
That sparkles just as pretty
As Chicago did at night
But it's not the same
Not the same sparkles in the sky
I know my Chigagoland
When it's alive at night
A beautiful village
A wondrous sight
When I look upon
Chicago at night
