In the Darkness

She hides forever in the darkness.

Always chained to the shadows,

By the shackles of fear and loneliness.

Others think she’s nothing,

While she’s ashamed of all her somethings.

A ghost in the corners,

You can feel her presence,

But cannot see her body.

A scream in the night,

You hear her and ignore her.

Consumed with grief,

She watches them living joyous lives.

Wishing to be like them, but knowing she never can.

She hides forever in the darkness.
