Lets become all they fear
Everything hated by daddy dear
Lets elope and sell dope
Spend the money on handcuffs and hope
Lets build a castle in the sky
Where we won’t have to hide the fact that we’re high
A cheap apartment could be paradise
Our murmured mantra- wouldn’t it be nice?
Protect you from all that you hate,
Screw them! We write our own fate,
We'll break all the rules and have fun,
Be what we want- vampires in the sun
Meet me at the station at one AM
Leave it all behind, forget about them
Let go of all the things you loathe
All we need is weed and a change of clothes
I’ll make it happen; I'll meet you there,
Just so I can whisper in your ear,
Tell you how much I love you,
There's nothing for you that I wont do
We’ll walk out into the light dark rain
My hair tousled ‘cause I slept on the train
Your purple hair glowing in the neon lights
The first of a thousand perfect nights
Spend all night talking and kissing
Not afraid to wake up and find you missing
With my head on your chest I can feel your voice
Pot and love are my drugs of choice
A/N: Based on a practical joke in which my boyfriend and I convinced a friend that we were going to elope to NYC and support ourselves by selling dope. Then told her we were kidding. Then played the same joke on her a week later and succeeded. Don’t ask why we decided to write a poem about it.
