Pathétique
Symphony
No. 6 in B minor:
First
Movement: Adagio;
Allegro non troppo
Softly swirling stars sparkle in the dark
All is quiet
Each contemplates their existence
Quiet strains are heard from some distant place
Faster and faster in swirl
They play in the swirl
Faster…Faster…they blink to each other
Now they march as the violins join the chorus
Quietly they gather
Around and around they go
They are building a sphere of light,
Careful, careful, calm…
Each builds its own part
For the time has come to
Sew it together –quilt of light
The little lights dance around
In and out –the strain weaves the thread
Together they build something glorious, golden
Now they seem to finish
Yes, it comes to an end as all things do
It fades and is gone from mind and sight
The guiding lines flow away
The symphony is no longer heard.
And the galaxy is made
