I can’t look her in the eye

It may sound strange

But it’s true

If I catch her eye

Just one look and I forget

I have to try and force myself

Force myself to speak again

Maybe I should just stare

But then staring is rude

Or is it not rude when they know you stare?

Maybe she wants me to stare,

Maybe she wants me to get lost

To lose my way with my words

What a way to be

Lost in someone’s eyes

Maybe it’s more like a transfixion

Maybe this only happens with eyes

I’ve seen beautiful mountains

But mountains don’t stare back

It’s in the realization that they’re lost in your eyes
