Don’t Be So Hard on Yourself

she cries with
sin in her back throat
lies lining her pockets
emptiness craving her insides
(everything she touches
turns to ash
under her cold fingertips)
she shivers in the corner and
grabs out another
cancer stick to soothe her nerves
(this is what he does to her)
she avoids mirrors
because she doesn’t want to see
her reflection (she knows she
isn’t perfect any longer)
she feels the burning in her
throat and eyes
when she breathes she feels her
heart crushcrushcrush
against her insides
(suicide)
we've all wanted to die because
we all have a little bit of "perfect girl"
inside
