Out of reach
You have become
I've known for years
This is how it ends
I have to hold on
To friendship
I'm getting sick of this
I don't want to move on
But there's no where else
To go

I nodded my head
Silently
I agreed to his proposal
A different man
Not him
How could I?
But still . . .
How can my sin
Be nearly as horrible
As your words?

A smile was planted on my face
From that day on
I never saw you again
I guess I never will
I never wanted it like this
Now I'm stuck
I'll die in peace
With a fitful heart
You could have calmed
