Her face like concrete

Rough

Sturdy

Unstable when cracked

And when it rained

Dirty water fled out

Always longing to cry

Almost never

Did anything

Come out

Like concrete

The sky was

Grey

Black

Never white

She took forever

To crack

Like concrete

People

Spit on her

Kicked her

Dropped things on her

Like concrete

Everything

Stayed the same

And then

The day came

When all was cracked

Things dropped into her

Not on her

Weights pulled her down

Close to the ground

Like concrete

Now there were

Cracks

To collect

Water

And things fled out

Gum loosened

And now she was happy

Because what once held her down

Lifted her off the ground

Like an angel

Like concrete she was no more
