Moonlit Mourn

-michael hoblak

Darling, oh darling, I wish you could see,

All of the things you do to me –

You put a smile on my face and tears in my eyes,

You’re the reason I laugh, the cause when I cry.

To have you gone so far away,

It’s made the night sky seem so grey –

The stars don’t shine, they’ve gone in hiding,

The midnight moon each night is dying.

I think of you when I close my eyes,

Your face shines brighter than summer skies,

And I pray that you will come home soon,

Because I miss you so much, my sun, my moon.

fin.
