1Misguided Love

I like this girl Sidney Price for a while now and my best friend Kate knows about it. She thinks I shouldn’t go out with her. I don’t know why she say that.

I was sitting in the lunch room eating and staring into space until I saw her Sidney Price. I watched her talking to her friends and wishing that I could me one of them, but I’m to shy to go over to and talk to her. I doubt she knows me. “Hey Andy.” someone said siting down next to me. I looked over to see who it was and it was Kate.

“Hey Kate.”

“What you looking at.” she said looking over where I was looking.

“Oh, her when are you going to talk to her?”

“I don’t know.”

“You should she is popular and there probably a lot of guys after her.”

“You know you’re a big help you know that.”

“I know.”

“What do you think I should do?”

“I think you should stop trying and go for a girl you know.”

“That really helpful you know.” Andy said rolling his eyes.

“I know.”

“I see you later.”

“Ok, bye.” Andy walked away.

“Are you still trying to go with Andy.” someone said to Kate

“Yes.”

“But does he likes some one else.”

“I know so I like him.”

“OK” they said walking away.

As Andy was walking down the hall he thought. What did Kate mean go for someone I know? I’m going to found that later. He said to himself. I don’t know if anyone I know likes me. I need to find out what Sidney likes, so I would know more about her. “Hey Andy.” Someone said as he walked into the library. “Hey Shawn.”

“What’s up with you.” Andy said.

“Nothing just checking my email and you.”

“I was going to check my email and wondering how to a girl.”

“What girl?”

“Sidney Price, do you know her.”

“Yeah, a little.”

“You think you could get her blog or something?”

“I could try.”

“Thanks Shawn.” Andy said as he sit down next to Shawn. Andy started to look at his email when Shawn said. “What would you like to know?”

“Just a little about what she likes.”

“Oh.”

“Do you know if she has a blog or something.”

“I think she has a my-space or a blog.”

“Can you show me?”

“I can’t they blocked both the sites.”

“Why the school have to do that.”

“I don’t know.”

“Can you get me them tomorrow.”

“Yeah.”

“Thanks.”

A minute or two later the bell ring. I have study hall next. Now would be the a good time to think of how to get Sidney. I walked into study hall and took a seat at one of the tables. I got out a notebook and started write down what I might need for a date

Flowers or candy

Nice restaurant

Nice clothes

I don’t notice someone sit down next to me until they said “what you writing.” I looked over to see who it is and it was Kate.

“Do you have a other class?” I asked

“Yeah, but I didn’t need and this is the only class open for me.”

“Oh.”

“So, what you writing?”

“What I might need for a date.”

“With who?”

“Hopefully Sidney.” I said. Kate rolled her eyes

“What with that?”

“You know what I think.”

“Yeah. So what would you like on a date?”

“Umm... when he show up I would like for him to something nice and give me a few of my favorite flowers.”

“It’s lilies right.”

“Yes.”

“Any thing else?”

“I would like to go to a nice restaurant.”

“Would you like he to be romantic?”

“Yes I would.”

“Do you think Sidney would like that.” I said. Kate rolled her again.

“What with that.”

“Come on are you really go to try to get a date with her.”

“Yes I am.”

“Ever think someone might like you.”

“Like who?”

“Umm...” Just then the bell rang. “Sorry I have to go to class.”

The next day the before school Shawn walks up to me and hand me a piece of paper I looked down at it. It had here Sidney my-space writing on it. I thanked Shawn as he walked away. I thought when I should ask Sidney and what restaurant to go to. I wonder what Kate would think. She’d probably say is shouldn’t go on the date. I still don’t get why she says that

Later at lunch. I walked up to Kate. “I have a question.”

“What is it?”

“Why do you keep saying that I shouldn’t go on the date with Sidney?”

“Maybe someone like you and they are to shy to say anything.”

“Like who?”

“Umm...?”

Someone calls for Andy he turns to see who it is. It was Shawn. “Here.” he said hand him a sheet of paper.

“What it?” Andy said looking at the paper it had a web address on it.

“It’s Sidney blog.”

“Oh, how you get it?”

“I had it this morning but I forget about it.”

“Thanks.”

“No problem. Tell me how it goes.” Shawn says as he walks away

“Why do you want her blog?” Kate asked

“So I can know a little bit more about her.”

“Don’t you want mine.”

“I probably have you’re .”

“Oh, so want what you looking know.”

“Just what she might like on date.”

“Like what?”

“Like what kind of flowers she like and that kind of thing.”

“Oh.”

“I was think of asking her after I know more about her.” Kate walked away. “What?”

“Nothing.” Kate said walking away.

Why can’t he see that I like him? I have give him hints, but I don’t think he was paying attention. I want him to get a date, but not with Sidney but with me. I don’t want Andy to have a bad date. I just want him to see that I like him. Kate was thinking as she was waking away.

I wonder what with Kate she been acting kind of odd lately. I hope she not mad. I’ll ask her later I hope it nothing I did or said. I try to find out later.

When I got home. I got on my computer and looked up Sidney’s blog and my-space. I was looking for anything she likes. I did find what kind of flower she likes. I looked over them again to see if I could find anything else she likes. Tomorrow I’m going to ask Sidney out. I bet Kate would say don’t do it.

The next day at school in the morning. Shawn walks up to me “did you find out what you was looking for?” he asked. “Yeah.” I said

“When are you going she her out.” “I was going to ask her today.”

“Good luck.” he said walking away.

Later at lunch when I was eating. Kate sat down next to me.

“What you thinking about?” Kate asks

“You don’t what to know.”

“Sure I do.”

“No you don’t.”

“Just tell me.”

“Ok, I was going to ask Sidney out today.”

“You was right.”

“That why I didn’t want to tell you.”

“Ok.”

“I’ll see you later.”

I walked in the library and saw Sidney by herself. This was the perfect time to ask her out. I walked up to her

“Hi, I’m Andy.”

“I’m Sidney. I seen you in some of my classes.” she said with a smile

“May I have a seat.”

“Yeah.” I sat down next to her.

“Can I ask you something.”

“Sure. What is it?”

“Will you go out with me next Saturday.”

“Yes, but can we make it the after Saturday that?”

“Yeah. Should I pick you up at 7:00?”

“Yeah, that sound nice.”

“OK, I’ll see you then.”

“Ok.”

I walked away to hind the huge smile I had. Shawn saw me in and the hall. “What happen?” he asked. “I asked Sidney out.” “And you got it.” “Yeah I did.” “Good for you.” “Thanks.” I said walking away.

When I got home that afternoon. I picked out a place that Sidney might like. I’m not going to tell Kate. She won’t like it anyway. The rest of the week was normal. The next week was normal until Shawn came up to me.

“I have to tell you something.” Shawn said

“What is it?”

“I heard Kate likes you.”

“Me?” I ask

“Yes, you.”

“Where did you hear this?”

“From her.”

Andy looked at Shawn with a confused look. He thought now I know why she said those thing I need to talk to her. “Shawn do you know where she is.”

“Last I saw her in the library.”

“See you later.”

I walked into the library. I looked around for her, but I could find her. I wanted to ask her if she meant what she said. I have to find her. I went back to the lunch room looking for Kate, but she wasn’t there. I try to find Kate after school, but I couldn’t find her.

Thursday at school. I didn’t see anyone in the morning. At lunch I looked for Kate again I found her in the library.

“Kate can we talk.”

“Sure.”

“Can we talk outside.”

“Yeah.”

I walked outside and stood by a tree and waited for Kate. She came up to me asking. “What you want to talk about?”

“Yesterday I heard something.”

‘What was it.”

“I heard you liked me.”

“Like a friend.”

“No, more.”

“Oh.”

“So.”

“Andy you know that I like you as a friend.”

“Yeah.”

“Lately I like you more then just a friend this is why I said those things and acted that way.”

“I have to tell you something, but you don’t want to know.”

“You got a date with Sidney.”

“I looked down. “I asked her before I knew about you.” She didn’t say any thing but I could see the tears in her eye. The bell rang

“I have to go to class” she said

“have a nice date with Sidney.” she said walking away

At school the next day I didn’t see Kate. At lunch I did talk to Shawn. “Did you tell her.” “No, but she knows.” “She guessed.” “Sorry.” “Thank ok.” I said getting up. I walked to the library I sat down at one of the table. I pulled out some work while I was working some one else sat down at the table. “Andy.” they said. I looked up to see who it is and Sidney was siting there

“Yes.” I said

“I need to tell you something.”

“What is it?”

“Yesterday a boy ask me out for the same day as you did.”

“Did you say yes?”

“Yeah.”

“So...”

“I’m sorry but I’ll have to cancel our date, ok.”

“That fine.”

“I’m sorry.”

“It’s ok.”

She walked away

I tried to get back to work but I couldn’t I keep thinking of the talk about dates with Kate. I know what she would like on a date. I should ask her. I don’t think I could find her now it would be easier to talk to her at house

After school I when to Kate’s house. When I knocked on the door her mom answered the door. “Is Kate home.” I asked. “She in her room.” “May I go see her.” “Yes.” “Thanks.” I walked up to her room and knock on her door.

“Who is it?”

“It’s Andy can come in?”

“Sure.” I walked in as and she was sitting on her bed

“What do you want.” she said meanly

I closed the door. “I want to tell you something.”

“What is it.” she said still mad.

“First why are you so mad?”

“You know why.”

“That’s why I’m here.”

“What you here to ask what Sidney would like.”

“No, that not why I’m here.”

“Then why?”

“Something happened”

“What is it?” she said looked away

“I had a talk with Sidney.”

“I knew it was something about her so what she say.”

“She had to.”

“She what?”

“She cancel the date.”

She looked up at me. “Oh didn’t you already make a reservation at a restaurant.”

“Yeah I did and is a nice restaurant too.”

“What are you going to do?”

“I don’t want to cancel it.”

“Then what are you going to?”

“I was thinking with what I know now.”

“Yeah.”

“Kate will you go on a date with me.”

She blushed and smiled. “Yes I will.”

“I’ll pick you up at 7:00 on Friday.”

“Ok, I’ll see you then Andy.” she said smiling

“ Bye Kate.” I said walking out of her room

I hah just about everything ready for the date but the flowers. I thought back to what Kate said about what she like on a date. The after noon of Friday. I went to the flower shop to buy some lilies for Kate. I pick out the best ones there. The I got ready for the date. As I drove to Kate’s house u couldn’t wait to see her. I hadn’t seen her on a date before.

I pulled out to her. When I knocked on the door Kate’s mom answered “Hi Andy, Kate will be down in a minute.” “Thank you.” I said walking in to the living room. I heard Kate’s mom saying Andy here and Kate saying I’ll be right there.

I turned around and saw Kate walk down the stair. I couldn’t stop looking at her as her and couldn’t believe that I didn’t see her like this before. She looked so pretty, so beautiful, so lovely. I watched her walk over to me.

“What is it?” she says.

“What?” I ask.

“You haven’t stopped looking at me since I came down.”

“It just look at you.”

“Awful don’t I look awful I knew it.”

“No, Kate you look lovely I haven’t seen you look this good.” She blushed and she looked better when she did.

“This is for you.” I said holding out the lilies I got for her. She smiled and blushed a bit

“Thank you.”

“You’re welcome.”

“Are you ready to go Kate.” I said holding out my hand

“Yes.” she said as she held out her hand.

I took her hand gently as we walked out to my car. I open the door for her and she smiled. After I got in we took off.

“What restaurant we going to?”

“The Forest.”

“I been waiting to go there. I’m glad to be going there with you.”

“Me to Kate.”

I smiled taking her as I drove. Kate smiled and blushed when I kissed her hand. We pulled up to the Forest I helped Kate out of the car. I still can’t believe how good she looks. When we gout up to the waiter he asked if we had a reservation. “yes it under Andy.” “This way the waiter said walking away.”

The waiter show us to are table it was by the window looking out the back on to the woods behind the restaurant. “This is a good table, where you get the money for this?”

“You know I had that job I use some of that money.”

“That good.”

“Yeah, do you see anything you want.”

“Not yet, do know anything good.”

“They have good burgers and chicken sandwiches.”

“Have you been here before?”

“Yeah, one or two times with my family.”

“I think I been here once with my family.”

The waiter came up to as if we was ready to order. I looked over at Kate and ask are you ready. “Yes, I’ll have a chicken sandwich with flies.” “I’ll have burger with flies.” “Drinks?” “I’ll have a coke.” “Me too.” the waiter walked away. We sat there not saying anything for a minute or two.

“Have you liked me before.” Kate said

“Kate you know you’re my best friend.”

“I mean as more then a friend.”

“I have.” “You have?”

“Yeah it was a while ago it was you had a boyfriend.”

“Do you mean at the being of the year.” “Yeah.”

“Did you like me after I broke up with him.”

“Yeah, but you said you wasn’t going to have a boyfriend for awhile.”

“I did say that, but a while after that I did what one. I was going to tell you but.”

“But what?”

“You started talking about Sidney.”

“Oh, you should of told me I would of asked you out.”

“Oh.”

Then waiter came over with the food. “Here your chicken and here’s your burger.” he said. “Thanks.” I said. We didn’t say very much as we was eating. “Would you really of asked me out then.” Kate said as she took a slip of drink. “Yes I would of I did like you.” “I would of if I knew.” We didn’t say anything until we was done eating. “Do you feel like having some dessert.” “I’m not really in the mood for that.” “Then what are in the mood for?” “A walk in the park.”

I smiled and said “Ok.” I called the waiter and asked for the check. After I paid. I asked Kate. “You want to go for a walk.” “Sure I would.” We go up and went out to the wood behind the restaurant. It get cold out. I turned to Kate and asked if she was cold. She nodded no. As we walked I held her hand with mine.

We walked a ways in the woods when I saw a bench. I walked over to it and sat down, Kate sat next to me. I saw her shiver a little so I took off my jacket and warped around her. She looked over at me and smiled, I smiled back. I looked back over at her and saw she was still cold, so put my arms around her. She blushed a little.

“What?” I whispered

“It’s nothing.”

“You sure.”

“I just didn’t think that I would be in your arms right now.”

“Why not?”

“Cause you had got a date with Sidney.”

“Oh, but don’t you like it.”

“Yes I do.”

“And so do I.” She smiled

“We should go before it get colder.” Kate said.

I nodded. She got up. We walked back to the car, as we walked I held Kate in my arms. When we got back to the car I open the door for her. After I got in I took off and as I drove I held Kate hand. We did say very much on the drive back her house

I pulled up to her house and let her out. I walked her to the door. “I had a great time on the date.” Kate said. “I had a great time to.” I stood there holding her and looking into her eyes trying to say something, but I but I couldn’t. One thought keep going through my head. I looked at Kate to see if she wanted to, I think she wanted to.

I pulled Kate closer and leaned down and gently kissed her. She put arm around my neck and kissed me back. Her kiss felt so good. I almost didn’t let go, but I did. She broke the kiss off and whisper. “I have to go in.” “Ok.” I said as Kate turned and when in.

On the way home I keep think about Kate and the date and how I feel. I thought about those things all night, I couldn’t get out of my mind until I did something about.

It was Saturday afternoon when I knocked on Kate’s door. When she answer. She asked. “What you doing here.” “Can I come in.” “Yeah.” We walked in to the living room and sat on the couch.

“Why are you here?” Kate ask

“Kate” I said “I need to tell you something”

“What’s that?”

“I been thinking about you and our date also what you mean to me.”

“And?” she asked

“I couldn’t see that you liked me, I was to busy trying to get some else but now I do. I want to ask you if...” I stopped and looked away. “If what?” “If you would be my girlfriend.” I looked back at her she as blushing a bight red and smiling. “Can I take that as a yes?” she nodded. I put my arms around her and pulled her close, give her a little kiss. We sat there with her in my arms.

Kate said. “Since the date I don’t just like you.”

“You don’t?”

“No, I think I love you.” I smiled

“I feel the same way sweetie.” Kate smiled and blushed a little. She kissed my cheek. “I love you Andy.” she whispered

“I love you too Kate.” I whispered back.

Now me and Kate are girlfriend and boyfriend, and I couldn’t be happier.
