I'd Bend Over Backwards For You

Story 2: Tarek and Abigail. The Christian and The Atheist.
"Whatcha readin'??"
Abigail Yule, or 'Abi,' looked up, her hazel eyes uninterested. Tarek Pellyn was back to bothering her again. The preppy jock never seemed to leave her alone. He was always "interested" in which manga she was reading at the time, or which picture she was drawing.
Psht, as if Tarek was into the whole yaoi genre.
"If you must know," Abi looked deep into the blond's eyes, causing Tarek to be slightly unnerved, "It's called FLCL."
Tarek took that as a sign to pull up a chair, sitting in it backwards. He smiled softly to Abigail, his long-time crush. She seemed so mysterious, with her black hair and not-so-basic black sense of dress. She wasn't a heavy metal rocker or anything, she just preferred long black skirts and long-sleeved, black, turtlenecks. She intruiged him, "What's it about??"
Abi rolled her eyes pointedly, deciding to feed him some bullshit, made-up-on-the-spot story that was really stupid, "Haruhara Haruko is an alien that crawled out of your mother's ass to clonk this little dude on the head so a gigantic gerbil can fall out of his ear and take over the world." She knew it was stupid. It made her want to laugh and rip Tarek's cross-shaped necklace from its resting place on his semi-broad chest.
The boy raised an eyebrow, "You for real??"
"Does this look like the face of someone who would lie to you??" The brunette looked at him over the rim of her thick emo glasses.
"If I say yes, will you still go out with me Saturday night??"
Abi got up, dusting off her long skirt, "I'm not going out with you anyway, dickweed."
Sighing, Tarek sat, defeated, as Abi walked off without so much as a 'good-bye.'
--
"Get those flowers out of my face," Abi commanded, shoving the liles away from her face. Tarek's eyebrows furrowed, a look of utter disappointment blossoming across his handsome features.
"Y-you don't like them??" He asked, his eyes following her movements as she walked away from him.
Abigail, however, turned on him, her dark eyes blazing, "Of course not, idiot. They're from you!!"
She let him recover slightly before she zoned in for the kill, "I bet that you're only being nice to me because you lost a bet to your jock friends. Or you've run out of lemmings to bang and you're slowly working your way down the social ladder. Well, guess what buddy, you must've fucked every girl in the school to get down to me." She glared as the bouquet fell limp to his side, "Face it, Jock-o, your kind and my kind don't mix."
Ethan appeared at Tarek's side as Abi stomped away, her boots making monotonous clicking sounds.
"Tough luck, man," Ethan placed a hand on Tarek's shoulder, locking the pair's blue eyes.
Tarek, thoroughly pissed off, his Ethan in the chest with the flowers, "I even talked to Dahlia to figure out which flowers were her favourites."
--
"Would you please just talk to me??"
"I told you, Jock-o, I don't want to be within one-hundred feet of you," Abi flipped her waist-length brown hair as she faced Tarek. He had been following her around since last week, when she had rejected the flowers. She had been thinking since then. Maybe... he really liked her. He had fucking bought her flowers. Maybe he was for real. She roughly pushed the thought away whenever it came up.
Tarek was just like all the other guys on the football team. All he cared about were boobs and winning the 'big game.'
She turned around to walk away as he grabbed her arm, "Please, just listen. I want to prove to you that I'm not that much different than you."
"You've got my attention, Jock-o."
"Fullmetal Alchemist-- Hagane no Renkinjutsushii-- 51 episodes-- Your favourite episode is 3, 'Mother,' because of the background song, 'Bratja.' You can sing it in both English and Russian and you can play it on the piano.
"Neon Genesis Evangelion-- 26 episodes-- 2 movies-- Your favourite episode is number 24. It's because you love the Kaworu/Shinji pairing.
"Wolf's Rain-- 30 episodes-- 2 manga-- Your favourite episode is 7 because it's the first one you ever watched. You also hate the completely different story line in the anime and manga."
Tarek stopped to take in the look of utter amazement on Abi's face. He had succeeded. He, himself, was a closet anime fan (all though he only really watched the episodes and wasn't really infatuated with it).
"Do you stalk me??" Abi shot, covering up her glee with anger.
"I asked your friend, Dahlia, about your favourite episodes and why. I knew all the rest on my own," Tarek admitted. It felt good to be in the presence of another fan and not be totally bashed for watching what others still referred to as 'cartoons.'
"First the flowers, now this??"
"I went through all of this to impress you. I spent my paycheck on bouquets on liles and manga and anime. For you," Tarek's blue eyes sparkled as Abigail took the DN Angel manga offered to her. She then lept into his arms, knowing in her heart that he was for real. He really liked her.
And she really liked him.
FIN
A.N.:OMG, my first het in a while... XD Since, 2004?? The first written, I should say. Some of my werewolves are in het relationships, but I've never written stories about them.
Speaking of which, I need to retpye 'FATE' and post it. It's a pure fantasy story, which is a refreshing plot-line for me.
Uhm, no reviews yet... but, hopefully, there will be some!! Hehe.
Hope you enjoyed!! I know I did. I'm listening to 'Amazing' by Blue October, and I'm in a fab mood. Besides the fact that the lyrics are so emolicious. I just love this song!!
