Caston: The Queen’s Confidante
Prologue-
The two girls sat in the cottage playing with their rag dolls. Neither ones was paying attention to the conversation taking place between the two adults.
“Joseph, please take her. She’ll be a good companion for Sharlotte,” the woman begged.
Joseph frowned, “She’s better off with you, Jeanette. You’re her mother”
“But I cannot provide for her, Joseph. Please take her, do it for your brother. He would not want her to live in poverty”
Joseph sighed, “I will take her.”
