I’m crying because

Life goes on.

Every funeral.

Every birth.

Every teardrop.

Every hug.

It doesn’t stop

Or wait

While you linger.

Life carries you to

The peaks of mountains

And the depths of valleys.

I’m crying because

In this moment

In your arms

This complete encircling

Comforts me

And protects me from the world.

I’m crying because

In the next moment

It won’t.

I’ll go back to the horrors

Of the state of the world.

To the suffering of every man

To the questions never answered.

To my pain left unhealed.

Are you the answer?

Are You the answer?

Life goes on.

That’s why I cry.

In the blink of an eye,

It will be gone.
