The Fire; The Rose; The Moon

The fire blazingly bright

Beneath the dark night sky

Bringing me constant warmth

And lighting up my indistinct life

-

A single long-stemmed rose of red

With velvet petals soft and smooth

Allowing these beautiful, vibrant hues

To color my existence of black and white

-

The lustrous full moon so vividly clear

Illuminating all that is dark and gloomy

A guiding light for those hopelessly lost

Filling their every being with eternal serenity

-

What are you but the fire; the rose; the moon?

Turning dark obscurity into beaming luminosity

Transforming malevolence into benevolence

Yet—yet; This fire; this rose; this moon— is mine.
