The feeling of lonliness is a sign that I'm alright
For a long period of time, that's all I've really longed for
But security breaks when my thoughts lead to others
I might have never knew

Weather shifts to what we're told is nature's cause
Baby, it's alright
It never meant to turn so gloomy on your birthday
The rain will help wash away the madness
Of an everyday candle
The fire of your shooting moon
I'll write you the words that I swore were from my heart
I'll even read the lines too big and small for reason

Never again have I looked for a rescue from you
You're my lesson and the teacher I knew
Anatomy has always stalked the liveliness of my heart
But the study of what seems so very simple
Can stretch to a history of our lives, of mine and minded
Desolution left in the wake of my own
The feeling of lonliness is a sign that I'm alright

Weather shifts to what we're told is nature's cause
Baby, it's alright
It never meant to turn so gloomy on your birthday
The rain will help wash away the madness
Of an everyday battle
The fire of your shooting moon
I'll write you the words that I swore were from my heart
I'll even read the lines too big and small for reason

And while the sky, as bright as the light of the stars on a rainy day
Breaks open to what the world describes as another beautiful morning
Of a day without despair, the too-late wakening of celebration
A day after sixteen, with a half burning candle at it's peak
Whisper in your ear, your wish has come true
And that I will leave, knowing you are in great company
And I am finally left to live another night by myself

Weather shifts to what we're told is nature's cause
'Baby, it's alright'
