Volurin: G’day everyone. Here it is. The sequel! Well the weird start of it anyway. Don’t worry; the old characters will be making appearances. If you have any questions about this prologue please ask because I knew the exact plot in my mind and I probably haven’t made it clear enough, so if your confused just ask about whatever it is your confused about and I will be able to answer!...hopefully.

Shadowstep, the mighty necromancer, stepped out of the shadows.

‘So here you all are’ he muttered to himself quietly. His focus was on the three beings chained to the cave wall in front of him. One female and two males. Reaching out, he placed a hand on each of the sperate chains in turn, chanting something in a different language under his breath. Wind rushed through the cave and his robes fluttered around him in the harsh breeze. Without warning the chains disappeared and the three figures dropped lightly to the ground, straightening immediately. They gazed around the cave as though they had awoken from a deep sleep, which in fact they had.

‘Anna’ the male with short blonde hair spoke to the female, ‘where are we?’

His accent was Romanian and he seemed to have trouble pronouncing his words into proper English.

‘I do not know, Rufio’ she replied coolly. Her long blonde hair flew out around her as the wind picked up once more and died away. Both vampires were identical to each other, twins as they were. The other male said nothing, but merely eyed the necromancer with curiosity.

Anna flicked her hair before turning to the ominous dark clothed man, ‘necromancer, would you care to explain?’

Shadowstep chuckled quietly, ‘Of course. You see, my brother, the mage of the north put the three of you under a binding spell three thousand years ago, only another member of his family could undo it. As such, I am the last of his family’

‘He is dead then?’ Rufio said, a slow grin starting to form on his face. Shadowstep nodded once and smiled in return, ‘now, you should continue with your quest’

Rufio grinned, his fangs flashing in the faint firelight, ‘of course. I can’t wait to get my claws into that Shamrock’

‘I’m afraid to say that that is still possible but you will have many problems this time Shadowstep said mildly.

‘What?’ Anna hissed but Shadowstep cut her off.

’15 years ago, Shamrock was murdered by his eldest son Volante. Vincent his youngest son killed Volante in return and brought his mother and father back. Now you have five members of the Malta to get through. Vincent, Shamrock, Brenda, Celia and Clarice’

Rufio rubbed his hands together in anticipation, ‘well, what we are waiting for?’

The necromancer led them out of the cave, a cruel smirk appearing on his lips.

Once these pure vampires destroy the Malta’s I will kill them and summon the Shadow Titan.

‘Oh and one more thing’ Shadowstep said to the three vampires before letting them venture into the darkness, ‘you cannot attack humans for the prophecy has finally come true. Vincent’s mate is the holder’

Anna sent a charming smile at him, ‘well were going to have to change that aren’t we?’

Rufio smiled in agreement with his sister and they walked away into the darkness. The other male stayed behind. His shoulder length silver hair covering one of his eyes so that he looked even more deadly. The red eyes watched the necromancer closely.

‘Shadowstep’

The necromancer literally jumped as he heard his name uttered softly. The other vampire appeared beside him, ‘if you even try to plan something I will know about it. I will not have you doing any harm to my coven’

Shadowstep composed his face and looked up at the leader of the bloodlust coven, ‘but of course not, Deon, never’

The ancient vampire inclined his head and slipped like a shadow into the darkness, ‘I will be watching you’

Shadowstep glared into the darkness, satisfied that he could no longer feel the vampires presence he muttered a message of his own, ‘no you fool, it is I that will be watching you’

With that he disappeared back into the darkness of the cave, waiting.

Volurin: Confused? Ask me about anything you don’t understand and I’ll fill you in. Thanks guys, later.
