Weird life
I woke up the next morning in the couch... under many layer of warm wool sheets, for a moment I almost believed I was back in my bed, expecting my cat to jump on me any moment to wake me up and start licking my face if I refused to comply to his wishes. I remembered about my unwanted vacation when it was a kid who jumped on me instead of a cat. For those who never owned a cat or had children you must know the later are usually a lot more heavier then kitty's, louder to... they use a different tactic to wake you up... instead of licking your face they usually scream and run around you before finally jumping on your lap if you refuser to move your ass out of the bed. This particular specimen named Tommy however did licked my face... and then started to scream, run and jump like a more conventional human infant.
Yet I wasn't shocked since I was beginning to understand strange behavior were common here and common behavior were scarce... slowly the smell of buttered pancake and maple sirup pulled me out of the bed and I started to walk still half asleep toward the kitchen. Tommy following me like yelling something about about huge snowball fight and ice skating and deer hunt... please do not ask me why a 5 years old kid would dream about hunting deers I have no idea... and no energy to think about such a thing so early. A few second later when the small kitchen was in sight and on the table bathed in the glorious light of the morning sun was a small stack of pancake waiting to be devoured... right... a small mountain of pancake would be more accurate then a small stack... it cant be called a small stack when the table is literally bending under its weight.
-Hi... I took the liberty of inviting someone for breakfast I hope you wont mind hes the leader or this small community and we had some paper work to finish.
It was only then that I noticed there was another person behind the “small stack” of pancakes... a tall dark haired brown eyed muscled male being his arms were ornamented whit various scars... looking at me straight in the eye without saying a single word. Fine.. if he wanna play staring contest I don't care im good at this game. I looked at him straight in the eyes waiting until one of us would suffer the humiliation of blinking our eyelid first or looking away.. surprisingly he was actually good at this game, but he wont beat me so easily... I forced myself to concentrate on the brown orb discovering all the shade or brown and gold and something else I could not explain... those eye were strange, in a way I was unable to describe. My eyes were starting to water.. was it possible.. could I lose a staring contest... if I did I would give a good fight. Fate decided we would not finish this fight since tommy literally pounded me on the side pushing me on a chair without notice ordering me to eat.
-Rain this is the guest I told you about earlier... she have nice eyes.. doesn't she.
-Yes they are quite... fascinating.
Thats creepy... usually normal people who meet for the first time ask the other person's name they dont compliment each other's eyeballs color. Something wasn't right in this place... the people... it was just wrong... I noticed Rain... just like Raven and Tommy seemed to eat an amazing amount of food. There three plate were filled whit a huge stack and more surprising they actually ate it.. and took some more after while I could barely finish two pancake. Did they have some eating disorder... well I definitely heard nobody puking later.
The storm was still raging outside and Raven invited Rain to stay until the weather calmed down... he was looking at me like some strange unwanted animal. Actually now I noticed he was not the only one... yesterday while I was playing in the snow whit Tommy the few town people I saw in the street all looked at me like some curious creature... some whit expectation or curiosity even joy but I just cant help but thinking they somehow knew who I was... they new I was different in a way I could not tell yet... was it so obvious, did I act in a way that offended there community... I hope not. Its obvious I don't belong here I guess... anyway I wont stay long, as soon as the roads are clear of snow im out of this place.
Most of the morning was passed whit a silent rain sculpting some piece of wood and a very talkative Tommy telling stories about humming bird bunny rabbit and evil gummy bear. Whit Rain occasionally interrupting his silent staring to ask me awkward question. Like where did I come from... did I have any family... where did I work i swear its worse then a police interrogating you.. he even asked me about my medical history but I told him that was not any of his business. Fuck he's creepy, this place is to weird I wanna get the fuck out of this freak town.
-What do you think Rain.
-You were right... she is one of us I can feel it...
-So she stay?
-No...
-why... explain yourself
-I don't have to explain my decision, im the alpha... I absolutely forbid you to bite her if you can go join the mutts your not pack anymore. Tomorrow your taking her back and make sure shes knocked out so she doesn't remember the way. She already suspicious about our way of life if she find out the truth her life is forfeit.. I wont endanger the pack for some human... even one whit her bloodline.
-Why.. just tell me why.
-She have a family... friend, a life, a job... you know if she change she wont be able to approach the stench... she cant tell them to come here either out location must remain a secret can you really ask her to abandon everything she know for a life whit us... when she learn the truth if she survive the first thing she will do is to run away and if she does she put the pack in danger... and I will have to kill her.
-So tomorrow I will come and make sure you bring her back home. And believe me you will bring her back if you don't I will do it myself. Im sorry raven.. she look like your daughter i know you wanted her to stay... but Celia wont ever come back to life and you cant replace her.
