Perfection

She’s beautiful, you think, as she stands all alone
Sanguinary passion; bruised eyes, jutting bones
With black tendrils she’ll grab you in an enticing dance
You’ll let her devour you, a macabre romance

You’re hungry; she’ll feed you misery and obsession
Her talons will grab you; forever her possession
Cruel mistress; she’ll kiss you, she’ll suck out your soul
You hand her your body to take back control

Feel the razor-sharp bones slashing through the skin
She crawls deep inside to consume you from within
She tells you you’re stronger than your body’s own needs
Forked tongue keeps on licking; on your flesh she does feed

She stares back from the mirror, addicting words in your ear
She tells you, “You’re more beautiful if you disappear.”
Play mind games with yourself; a mental match of chess
Strive for perfection; she’ll accept nothing less.
