Just take it

One day

One hour, one minute, one second

One at a time

That’s how I’m getting through

Through this wretched life of mine

Life sucks

Especially when you lose a friend

Not just any friend, no

But the best kind

Your other half

It hurts

When you lose your best friend to another

You fall into a void

A sorrow that can’t be matched

By anything else you’ve ever endured

Worthless

Helpless

You are unneeded

Only time can heal

Your broken and aching heart

You just hope and pray

Time heals quickly

Maybe just one day

One week, one month, one year

Will pass by

But one year

Is an awfully long time
