Yes, It Hurts

By: Kit Soza

They complain

But they shouldn’t have the right to when they’re never there

They want A’s

But they shouldn’t need them when they don’t even care

They’re just there to sign the paper

To nag and demand more

There for 9 months and for labor

Then they disappear off the face of this Earth

They don’t know me

Hell, my friend’s parents know me more

They don’t know what I could be

They solely know before

All my previous grades

But I’m not the same

Now I’m starting to care

For when I look and stare

At events, who’s parent-free?

No one but me?

It’s pretty berserk

But yes, it does hurt

I’m always the only one alone

Who’s parents only show at home

I’m the one who’s parents are never there

Who’s parents just don’t care

They scold and scream and demand of me

B’s to A’s!! C’s to B’s!!

And I don’t think they see

What’s really under me

A girl who most of the time is parent-free

But doesn’t want to be
