“Running Away from the Cure”

I will sit here and wait

Like so many others

For a train to come

And take me away

No limit in time

When you don’t care the way

For as long as you leave

It’s all the same

A distant bark

And a whistle blown

Will tell just how long

Until your savior arrives

To carry you along

On rusted rails of steel

Unto your final destination

Where love and laughter becomes real

So take me away

On your wheels so smooth

And love me till I die

So that living is the cure
