It was the best kiss of my life. He held me lightly in his arms and kissed me softly. All our time apart, all the tears I shed, it was all almost worth it for that one kiss. I shuddered with happiness and when we stopped I couldn’t stop smiling.

“I think I love you too,” I whispered, looking him right in the eyes, he grinned from ear to ear.

I only tore my eyes away from his when I heard the cheering.

Without stepping out of his arms, we both turned to see the guys cheering and clapping.

“About time!” shouted Dell.

Tony was smiling, the words; I told you it would get better, gleaming in his eyes.

Marcus was still whistling.

I laughed and just hugged him tighter.

He kissed the top of my head and I closed my eyes and smiled.

“Alright lovebirds,” said Dell. “I’ll assume that you guys are leaving together, so I’ll get this out of the way fast. Paige, you know what Tony’s getting his cast off tomorrow, and that he’ll be able to play soon, but that doesn’t mean we want you gone. Is there any position you want with the band?”

I shook my head.

“This was fun and all guys, but I think I’ll just be a spectator from now on,” I said. “Besides I’m in the middle of putting my life back together, I need to concentrate on school.”

Dell nodded sadly.

“Ah, I’ll miss having a chick in the band!” Marcus said.

I laughed, my arms still around Jay’s chest.

“What about you, man?” Dell asked Jay. “You taking the good boy route, or going to hang on the wild side?”

“Hey, I already convinced my mom to give me the time off school, so why not?” he asked.

“Good,” smiled Dell. “‘Cause if you stick around, that means we’ll be seeing more of Paige, here.”

Jay laughed.

“For sure, man,” I said.

“Good girl,” said Tony. “I gotta keep an eye on my sis anyways.”

He winked at me, I smiled.

“Hey,” said Marcus. “Remember, you’re free to jam with us anytime.”

I smiled.

“Sure.”

“Alright, get going lovebirds,” said Tony.

“No words of caution, bro?” I asked him in mock surprise.

His eyes twinkled.

Have fun.”

End.
