Sitting on a strange bed

In some cheap motel

I’m thinking of you—

Missing you…

The harsh smell of urine stains the air

And large rats crawl across the floor

Such is the mirror of my soul.

Where are you?

Are you thinking of me?

I just want your solid arms around me again

Oh—how the city lights burn.

The cars constantly screech

Hurting my tender ears..

I miss those cool country mornings

Walking hand in hand

Along some lonely path.

The wind bangs on my moldy shutters

And lightning lights my room

I think I see you standing there

In the dusty gloom

But—ah.. It’s just some ghostly phantom

A shadow fleeing

A shade come to torture me with memories of the past.

Honey, I miss you

I love you.

I’m sorry…

Take me back to those blissful country mornings...

Let me escape from the awful city nights.

A/N: The ending is kind of abrupt, but I'm working on it.
