Truth

A spark of electricity
a night like no other.
Fate surpassing truth
in a violent fire.
But nothing was touched.
Not a single hair--
surely her body
would no longer be there.

Excitable flames
they never were.
The power of a mind
suffers under trauma,
But a simple trick
caught in the wind
on a leaf now in a jar.
Leaves little for the raised fist.

The fire burns deep
Caught in the glow of an angry defender.
Stance in fire.
Now on fire.
Nothing burns-
not the mind, not the body.

Incredible reality
Yes, I know.
But truth penetrates deep
into the heart of the receiver.
And everything that they found
was a fragment of such.
Not to be understood
but still under fire.

But the mind grows dim
as embers grow darker.
A dark figment
is another lover.
A quick pulse
and the eyes dart forward
to the heart
to the beginning
where the truth runs wild and forbidden.

But in the end it was
for those few to find.
Hidden deep.
Obvious fear
that guards that gate,
guards that prison
(where truth be told)
where bliss means less than before.
