Let Darkness Come

The wind in the trees

Moon among stars

Whisper in the hollow

Let Darkness come

Hour of the Dead

Time of mourning

Time of loss, a meaning, a shadow and a sacrifice

And yet

Let Darkness come

They chase behind me

Blood on my shoulders, Death at my heels

Blue smears with black

Let Darkness come

Run to the center of all thought all

Emotion

Though a whisper can’t be heard

Balance on the razor’s edge

Darkness greets me at the door

Close my eyes, so many voices

And then they numb into silence

I look up and take his hand

And wonder

...Do I belong with Darkness?)
