I had been trying to write a story outside of the genres of sci-fi, fantasy, and supernatural for a while but never could make it past the first chapter. Then a few weeks ago I realized what the problem was: I never had a real purpose or force behind what I was writing. I decided then if I wanted to write a story, it needed to mean something to me and in order for it to mean something to me, it had to be based upon or dedicated to people who truly care about me and what I do. As I've written several stories that my friends have helped with character sketches and plot outlines, I decided that it was time to recognize all that they do to help me.

I would like to dedicate this story to those I love and those that they love: My friends Tera, Nathan, Liz, Elliott, John, Piper, Sarah, and Caity, who have been the greatest family I have ever known. I would never had been able to make it through school without you to help lift me up at my low points and to celebrate those high points.
