Sitting, sketching during the summer, I jotted this down in my sketchbook, there happened to be many hummingbirds around.

Eclipse

By Gray Davidson

The sun was eclipsed today.

The culprits were the wings—

Wings of angels.

They came to help us

Even though they were forbidden.

They came by the trillions,

And they eclipsed our light.

We gained the love of angels

But were denied the sun.
