Lady Vengeance and Sir Retort 11/26/06

Lady Vengeance and Sir Retort
ran away in a convertible
that stunk of cigarettes and sins.
The tires screeched and the horn honked
and the two screamed along, out of tune.

They danced under the dull green stars
and wrapped themselves in the black blanket
that was the night sky.
Late night passersby stared in disgust
as they grinned and shouted out oily laughs.

They walked across the dead bodies and
they licked at the remains of their innocence
(and sanity.)
They kissed under the hiding moon
and deep inside hoped no one saw their true love.
(Everyone knows villains only hate.)

They stole the rainbow and made a deal with the rain
so that it would last for eternity.
(In exchange they gave the rain the last of
their common sense.)
They had candle-lit dinners in grotesque places
that only their imaginations could come up with.

Lady Vengeance and Sir Retort
hopped on a flying train
back to their home town to find
it deserted.
So they mapped out their destiny
on the never ending road of soulless living.
