Metamorphosis of Tithonus

--

Dawn, the morning comes,

to steal Tithonus away,

up to Olympus.

--

She entreaties king,

Jove, let him live eternal,

forgets to keep youth.

--

Tithonus lives glad,

birthdays go, and go, and go,

years accumulate.

--

Build up, and later,

an old man, fit to be dead,

lives on, immortal.

--

Tithonus, alas,

grows, old, and small, eternal,

until, a cricket.

--

Changes dwell in all,

live in every myth of Greece,

metamorphosis.
