Tumbling

I’m rolling and wheeling,

I’m tumbling and reeling.

This slope is dewy,

and my eyes are newly,

empty of your shining smile,

though it’s taken me a while.

They all say I’m finally free,

but I don’t think I want to be.

My mind is clearing,

but my eyes are still tearing,

though this ground is solid, sturdy.

“It’s over,” they all say to me.

From here the climb looks steep,

but I left my heart up on it’s peak.

Still, new life is coming near,

because it’s all uphill from here.
