Night Fury

There is a barren, desolate forest, ravaged by winter storms

There flows a half-frozen river, over jagged stones

At the water’s edge stands a dark menace

A lanky body of corded muscle and sinew

Claws like razors tip the shaggy paws

Sharp snout brimming with pearly fangs stained red

Lips drawn back in a savage snarl

Black hackles raised in rage

Muscles taunt with readiness

A creature eager for violence

The ragged ears, torn in past battles

Lines of silver mar the inky coat

Scars worn as trophies

Marking the cruel victories

Flame yellow eyes burning with rabid fury

Glowing with evil light
